Join the LA Iris Conservation Initiative for the blooming of the the world's rarest Louisiana iris, only found in Vermilion Parish, the Abbeville Red Iris. There will be guest speakers, planting demonstrations, pollinator info, iris photo contest, food, music and more. Event will take place near the Nature Center and boardwalk from 11am-4pm.

Learn how to cook cracklins at Palmetto Island State Park. Demonstrations begin at 8am. Dutch oven desserts provided by the Latanier Cookers. Music by DJ Justin Cormier. No bicycles, golf carts or pets allowed in the event area. No charge for tasting, but donations are welcome!
